As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh. May Allah have mercy upon me,
you and all of the Muslims.
After one of our classes with Ash-Shaykh Hasan Abdul-Wahhaab Al-Bannaa, may Allah preserve
him and his family upon good. I asked him a question that was asked of me.
Question: In America we have individuals who teach Tajweedul-Qur’aan (rules of reciting Al-Qur’aan) and Al-Lughatul-Arabiyyah (the Arabic language).
These individuals are not upon this blessed da’wah, Ad-Da’watus-Salafiyyah. Are we
able to sit with these individuals and learn what they are teaching (Qur’aan and Arabic).
Answer: Sitting with these individuals is allowed, if it is a dire need, and a
necessity. Learn from them, At-Tajweed and Arabic, and nothing else. Sit with
them and leave from their sittings after you have learned these two sciences and
do not learn Al-Aqeedah (The Creed/Doctrine of Al-Islaam) or Al-Manhajj (The
correct way of adhering to Al-Islaam and implementing As-Sunnah). Once again
as long as it is necessary. I understand the condition of the Muslims in
America. May Allah make it easy upon you all.
Later Ash-Shaykh Hasan advised us outside. To study Al-Aqeedah and At-Tawheed
(To single Allah out with all acts of worship). He stressed us to learn Al-Aqeedah and At-Tawheed, he
expressed this several times. He than said, “this is what separates us from
Al-Kufaar (the disbelievers) and Al-Kufr (disbelief). This is what makes us
different from them. Our Aqeedah and our understanding of At-Tawheed. We must
raise the banner of Al-Islaam, by learning At-Tawheed and teaching it and
spreading it. He than said, May Allah guide you all to Khayr (Good). May
Allah preserve the Shaykh and accept his efforts in trying to teach us. Ameen.
