Indeed Actions Are Based Upon Intentions

Indeed Actions Are Based Upon Intentions

Narrated that Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard Allah’s Messenger (Allah’s peace and blessings upon him) say: (Indeed actions are based upon intentions, indeed for everyone is what he intended. So whose migration was to Allah and His Messenger, then his migration is to Allah and His Messenger, and whose migration was to take a share of the worldly life or to marry a woman, then his migration is to what he migrated to) agreed upon.

Ash-Shaykh, Al-Allaamah Saalih Aalish-Shaykh (May Allah preserve him and his family upon good) explains: This is Hadeeth (narration) is a great hadeeth…
This hadeeth is a principle from the foundations of the religion. Imaam Ahmad (May Allah bestow His mercy upon him) said: Islaam revolves around 3 Ahaadeeth (Narrations):

Narration of Umar (May Allah be pleased with him): (Indeed actions are based upon intentions).

Narration of Aa’ishah (May Allah be pleased with her): (Whoever invents in our affair that which is not from it, then it is rejected).

Narration of Nu’maan Ibn Basheer (May Allah be pleased with him): (Indeed the that which is permissible is clear, and that which is forbidden is clear).

So when this narration – narration ((Indeed actions are based upon intentions)), It is needed in everything, it is needed in obeying the commands, staying away from prohibited matters, and abandoning doubts and suspicions. Upon this, the occurrence of this hadeeth is magnified, because the one obligated in any condition becomes upon it (the condition) of what is between a command following it: whether it’s an obligatory command or recommended, or what is between forbidding abstaining from it: forbidding the impermissible or forbidding the detested, or the command becomes doubtful, therefore it is abandoned. All of this does not become correct except upon desiring Allah’s Face, The Mighty and Majestic with in, and it is An-Niyyah (Intention).

A Visit To The School

I went to my children’s school to complete all of the paper work, payment arrangements and whatever else I had on my list and while walking around the school I saw this sign.

Debt-niyyaa

Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Hurairah (Radiyallahou ‘an-ou) that the Messenger of Allah (Salallahou ‘aleyhi wa salam) said: “Whoever takes the wealth of the people and he intends to pay it back, Allah will pay it back for him, and whoever takes it intending to waste it, Allah will waste him” (Al-Bukhari no. 2387).

Maashaa Allah a very nice reminder. Does it help parents pay the tuition? Allah knows best. But it is very pleasing to walk into an establishment and see a hadeeth as a reminder on the wall. We ask Allah for guidance and help.

At-Tawheed is Knowledge!!!

As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu. May Allah have mercy upon me, you and all of Al-Muwahhideen (those who establish the Oneness of Allah, without associating partners unto Him, in all aspects of the religion of Al-Islaam).

Al-Allaamah, Ad-Ductoor, fadheelatush-Shaykh Saalih bin Fawzaan bin Abdillahi Al-Fawzaan, hafidhahullahu (may Allah preserve him upon good), said in his book: Ahamiyyatut-Tawheed, wa Makaanatihi fil-Islaam (the Importance of Establishing the Oneness of Allah, and its Position in Al-Islaam). ((The Importance of Establishing the Oneness of Allah, and its Position in Al-Islaam)), that topic which is obligatory upon us always, that we converse about it, that we explain it, that we study it and we work within it. Because within it is the achievement of happiness in Ad-Dunyaa (this world) and Al-Aakhirah (hereafter).

At-Tawheed its meaning: To single out Allah in (all) aspects and acts of Al-Ibaadah (which is all that Allah loves and pleases him, from Al-Aqwaal (statements), and Al-A’maal (actions), which are Ath-Thaahirah (apparent) and Al-Baatinah (hidden), and leaving of worshiping what is made equal to Him as a partner.

This subject is repeatedly mentioned in Kitaabul-Allah (The book of Allah, Al-Qur’aan), there is hardly devoid from a verse from the verses of Al-Qur’aanul-Atheem except that within it mentions towards At-Tawheed, and commands in it, and encourages upon it. There are an abundant amount of verses, especially the verses revealed in Makkah. So there exists the verse from the first of it to the last of it in the subject of At-Tawheed.

Even that Al-Imaam ibn Al-Qayyim, rahimahullahu says in his book ((Madaarijus-Saalikeen (Paths of the Righteous))): Verily Al-Qur’aan all of it is about or concerning At-Tawheed, because it is that which informs about Allah, Subhaana wa ta’aalaa (the Glorified and the Most High), and His Names, His Attributes and the commands in worshiping Him, His Oneness without associating partners unto Him and f

From the book “La Ilaha Illallah, Ma’naahaa, Shurootuhaa, Nawaaqidhuhaa, Fadhluhaa (There is no god deserving of worship in truth and in existence except Allah), its Meaning, its Conditions, its Nullifiers, it Superiority), Shaykhunaa (our Shaykh), fadheelatus-Shaykh (the Esteemed and Noble Scholar) Aboo Abdillahi Muhammad bin Sa’eed Raslaan, hafidhahullahu (may Allah preserve him upon good) says: Verily Allah ta’aalaa created the creation for Ibaadah, as He said: ((and I did not create Al-Jinn (invisible creatures made from smokeless fire) and Al-Ins (Mankind) except to worship Me (Allah))) [Adh-Dhaariyaat : 56).

Al-Ibaadah it is taa’atullahi (obedience to Allah) upon obeying His commands, and avoiding what He prohibited. Similar to what Subaanahu (Glorified is He) distinguished upon the tongues of His Messengers, alayhimus-Salaatuh was-Salaam (peace and blessings upon them), Al-Ibaadah (Worship): an inclusive noun for all what Allah loves and pleases Him from Al-Aqwaal (statements) and Al-A’maal (actions) Ath-Thaahirah (apparent) and Al-Baatinah(hidden).

So worshiping Him Subhaanahu it is obeying Him by actualizing the commands and abandoning the forbidden, and that is the reality of Deenul-Islaam (the Religion of Islaam). Because the meaning of Al-Islaam: Al-Istislaam (Submission/Subjugation) to Allah ta’aalaa (the Most High), including Al-Gaayah (intention/purpose), Al-Inqiyaad (submission/obedience), Adh-Dhull (humbleness/subservience) and Al-Khudhoo’ (a combination of all of the above, submission, obedience, humbleness/lowliness).

It was once said to me by Shaykhunaa, Al-Ustaadh (the Teacher/Professor), fadheelatus-Shaykh, Hasan Abdil-Wahhaab Marzouq Al-Bannaa, hafidhahullahu: establish At-Tawheed first, this is the most important of Uloom (Sciences). Tawheed should be learned first and foremost, mankind must know Who their Lord is. He said that: “At-Tawheed is what separates the Muslim from the non-Muslim. Our Aqeedah (Creed and Doctrine, concerning the Oneness of Allah, in His Ruboobiyyah (Lordship), His Uloohiyyah (Singling Him out out alone in all aspects of Ibaadah) and His Asmaa wa Sifaat (Names and Attributes, which are for Allah alone, and are beautiful and perfect) is what separates us from the non-Muslims. This is Aqeedatu-Ahlis-Sunnati wal-Jamaa’ah (the Creed of the People of the Narrations of Rasoolullahi, salallahu alayhi was Sallama, and The Body of Muslims adhering to Al-Qur’aan and As-Sunnah, as understood by As-Sahaabah (the Companions) and those Righteous people who came after them and clung onto what they (As-Sahaabah) had established without deviation), separates us from all of the other Jamaa’aat (groups) within the fold of Al-Islaam. He said, hafidhahullahu: we must establish At-Tawheed first and at all times. We must understand the One Who we are worshiping, we must understand the One Who we are praying towards. This only makes sense. Ash-Shaykh he said: if you see a man in the street drinking khamr (all forms of intoxicants), you establish upon him that this is Haraam (forbidden) in Al-Islaam, but you also are to teach him about the One Who made this haraam and why.

Waalidunaa fi Misr (our father in Egypt), Shaykhunaa Hasan Abdul-Wahhaab Marzouq Al-Bannaa, may Allah preserve him and us upon khayr said: Al-Bid’ah (innovation) is Al-Jahl (ignorance), and At-Tawheed is Al-Ilm (knowledge). Al-Bidah is conquered by At-Tawheed. Knowledge prevails over ignorance. Seek knowledge of Allah, His Messenger Muhammad, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him and of His Religion, Al-Islaam.

Translators note: I ask you would one jump into a 10 feet deep pool or into the ocean, before he learned how to swim, or drive upon a busy highway before taken driving lessons (I hope not). So is the prayer of one who prays upon Ilm (knowledge) of his Lord and Creator, similar to the prayer of one who prayers upon jahl (ignorance/stupidity)? Are they the same? Its time for us to know who our Lord is, don’t you think?

Seeking Knowledge is Obligatory Upon Everyone!

From the narration of Uthmaan Ibn Affaan (May Allah be pleased with him said, Allah’s Messenger (Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: ((Whoever died and he had KNOWLEDGE of La Ilaha Illallah (There is no god deserving of worship in truth except Allah),will enter into Paradise)). Notice he did not say: ((Whoever died and he SAID or BORE WITNESS…)). We must understand that we are obligated to KNOW and have KNOWLEDGE of this great and noble statement. We must KNOW its pillars, conditions, obligations and what nullifies it. Allah, the Most High ordered us when He said: ((So have KNOWLEDGE of La Ilaha Illallah, and He will forgive you of your sins)) [Surah Muhammad, Ayah 19]. Once again do we see the word KNOWLEDGE. Allah, The Blessed and Exalted did not say: ((So SAY or DECLARE La Ilaha Illallah…)). We must have knowledge. Allah’s Messenger (Allah’s peace and blessings upon him) said: ((Seeking KNOWLEDGE is obligatory upon every Muslim)). May Allah raise us all in beneficial knowledge.

The Truth Concerning What’s Occurring In Misr (Egypt). Shaykh Muhammad Sa’eed Raslaan.

Shaykh Muhammad Sa’eed Raslaan (May Allah safeguard him and his family upon good), said: “That which is currently flowing through Misr (Egypt) – right now – is nothing except conflict (strife) – in the actuality of the situation – it is of 2 cultures:

1) Al-Hadhaaratul-Islaamiyyah (Islaamic Culture) upon its foundations of Ash-Shar’iyyah (Islaamic Legislation): (From it is At-Tawheed (making Allah one in all acts of worship), Ittibaa’u khayril-Bariyyah (following the best of creation) (Allah’s peace and blessings upon him).

2) Al-Hadhaaratul-Gharbiyyah (Western Culture) upon its foundations of Al-Wathaniyyah (Idolatry), At-Tawriyyah (The ways of the Old Testaments, as was revealed to Moosaa (Peace and blessings upon him), As-Saleebiyyah (The ways of the new testament, as believed to have been revealed to Eesaa (Peace and blessings be upon him).

That which is currently flowing through Misr (Egypt), intending from it At-Taghyeer (change)!

At-Taghyeer (change) which means: Leaving from the old surroundings: Aqadiyyah (Creed/Doctrine), Shariyyah (Islaamic Legislation), Ijtimaa’iyyah (Uniting upon Al-Haqq (Al-Qur’aan and As-Sunnah), Ikhlaaqiyyah (Islaamic behaviour and conduct), and Hayaatiyyah (Existence/Living).

At-Taghyeer which means: That we abandon – Talaaq Baa’in (Irrevocable or Final Divorce) and no returning in it – All of what connects to the past: Turaath (Heritage), Lughah (Language), Hadhaarah (Culture), and Intimaa’ (Association)!

At-Taghyeer which means:
That we wear Jeenz (jeans), changing from Al-Qamees (thobe/jalabiyyah)!
That we eat with the Yusraa (left), changing from eating with the Yameen (right)!
That we eat Beetzaa (pizza), changing from eat Thareed (Crumbled pieces of bread, in boiled water which has been cooked with meat and thickens)!
That women have multiple husbands, replacing that men have multiple wives (polygyny)!
That we accept Bigaa’ (lewdness, immorality and promiscuity: improper sexual conduct) and abandon marriage!
That we speak with the Ar-Rataanatul-Ia’jamiyyah (Foreign Tongue), changing the articulation and clarity regarding the noble Arabic language!

That which is flowing through Misr (Egypt) right now, desiring from it:
That Al-Jaami’atul-Azhariyyah (Al-Azhar University) delays and lingers for Al-Jaami’atul-Amerikiyyah (American University) to proceed!
That Al-Hijaab (woman’s headscarf) leaves for the complete removal of Al-Hijaab and An-Niqaab (face veil), and complete nudity!
That A’laamul-Islaam (The Flags of Islaam) and it banners are folded and put away in Misr (Egypt), for the raising of A’laamus-Saleeb (The flags bearing the cross of Christianity) and A’laamu Najmah Dawood (The Star of David).

Chapter “Knowledge Precedes Speech & Action”

Bismillaahi ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem

as salaamu alaikum,

Just a little taste of how things go when those who are not qualified are over the affairs of others. And although it’s funny, in a way, to watch it is also sad.

How many of us are in charge today and cause such destruction with our hands and tongue?

So let’s think. As a man you may be the driver, the operator, the father, husband, son, step-father, uncle and brother. Let us fear Allah and be mindful of our trust. Let us be mindful that we have the ability to bring benefit as well as harm. Let’s seek nearness to Allah and do our best to protect the Muslims (and non Muslims) from our harm. Don’t give your good deeds away.

Let’s make du’aa for our brother hoping in return that Allah will have mercy on us and protect us from brining ourselves and our family towards destruction. Let’s focus on ourselves and our families first, the women and children under our care.

Let’s forgive and move on seeking the face of Allah, The Tremendous. The glorious return for the believers is only to Him, The Perfect. Why dwell on the past? But seek forgives from your Glorious Lord, give thanks, move on and prepare for your meeting with The Inheritor, Allah.

(They say): “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.” 3:8

85 – “O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the Earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I take refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil and shirk of the devil, and from committing wrong against my soul or bringing such upon another Muslim.”

88 – “O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.”

Blinking-eye

Righteousness is a choice. Let’s choose righteousness.

Naseehah (Advice) from Shaykh Hasan Abdul-Wahhaab Al-Bannaa

As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh. May Allah have mercy upon me,
you and all of the Muslims. Aameen.

Once, I entered the masjid for our class with our Shaykh Hasan Abdul-Wahhaab
Marzouq Al-Bannaa (may Allah preserve him, and his family upon good), I found him praying. After I offered my
prayer of greeting the masjid, I greeted the Shaykh and kissed his head. We
talked about how each of us spent our Eid and the conditions of our families.
After this the Shaykh began to drink his tea, which was prepared for him. I
asked the Shaykh, how does one become a strong student, treading the path of
seeking knowledge? The Shaykh replied, Patience (Sabr). He said this 3 times.
He said patience with Allah, in good and bad times. Patience with yourself,
patience with ease and with hardships. Patience with your family and friends.
Patience with knowledge. Patience with the Qur’aan. Patience with learning the
Arabic language. I thanked the Shaykh and returned to my place of sitting.
After a short while, the Shaykh motioned to me to come to him. He told me, not
to waste time. He told me to guard my time from the time wasters. He told me
not to waste my time with that which wont bring about any benefit. Guard your
time against your desires. Give knowledge all of your time. Tire yourself with
seeking knowledge. Do not become distracted by those who want to take your
knowledge. Once again I thanked the Shaykh and returned to my place of sitting.
After a short period, the Shaykh motioned to me again to come to him. He told
me to engulf myself in reading the Qur’aan. He said to read the Qur’aan in
abundance. Over and over and over. He said to read the Qur’aan when you wake
from your sleep, read the Qur’aan before you go to bed. The more you read the
Qur’aan, the better you will become in the Arabic language. So constantly read
the Qur’aan.
He also told me to listen to the tapes of the Ulamaa (major scholars), from the
likes of Shaykh Al-Albaanee, Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen, Shaykh Ibn Baaz, and Shaykh
Saalih Aali Shaykh.

Later on the Shaykh was asked about the rights of the Qur’aan. Is it better to read it
or to memorize it?

He, the Shaykh (may Allah preserve him, and his family) said, one should read the Qur’aan. The
Qur’aan is to be read. To memorize it is good. But if it cant be memorized, so
read it. Read it in your prayers, before you sleep, when you wake. Before
prayer and after prayer. Always have a mushaf (copy of the Qur’aan) near you,
everywhere. In Shaa Allah.

May Allah have mercy upon us all.
