This took place January 9th., 2014 (Thursday night/the night before Jumu’ah).
As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh. I hope and pray all is well with each and everyone of you. After our class tonight with Shaykh Taamir Fatooh (may Allah preserve him and his family upon good), which was about the obligation of ruling and judging by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His prophet Muhammad (Allah’s peace and blessings upon him). The shaykh began telling us about his studies and his shaykhs. At the head of them Shaykh Ahmad Fahmiyy (may Allah mercy be upon him), as well as Aadil Sayyid (may Allah preserve him upon good) and various shuyookh at Jaami’atul-Ansaar was Sunnah Al-Muhammadiyyah in Aabdeen, Cairo, including our elder, our father, Shaykh Hasan Abdul-Wahhaab Marzouq Al-Bannaa (may Allah preserve him and his family upon good). Shaykh Taamir said that he attended the regular classes in the masjid for 4 years and then entered the ma’had (institute), in which he studied for 6 years and graduated. He informed us that Shaykh Ahmad Fahmiyy was more known in Sa’oodiyyah, where he taught at the two sacred masjids, than he was in his own country of Misr (Egypt). Shaykh Taamir spoke of his great love for his shaykh, Shaykh Ahmad Fahmiyy. After leaving the shaykh’s home and sitting in the in front of his house waiting for the car to warm up, the brother who I was with and I began talking about Shaykh Ahmad Fahmiyy. I was wondering if I have ever met him or even seen him. We talked about Shaykh Taamir has so much love for him, but Shaykh Ahmad has been sick lately and has forgotten a lot, then we received a call from Shaykh Taamir informing us that Shaykh Ahmad Fahmiyy just passed away, may Allah bestow His great mercy upon the shaykh.
The narration: ((whoever died the day of Jumu’ah or the night of Jumu’ah is safeguarded from the trail of the grave)). Narrated by Imaam Ahmad.
Shaykh Taamir said that Shaykh Ahmad used to ask Allah, the Blessed and Most High for this type of death constantly. May Allah grant us and him much ease and comfort in our graves and safeguard us from the punishments of hell-fire.
